Tretorns are BACK!

Do you guys remember Tretorns? Or am I dating myself? I guess it depends on the reader! LOL Tretorns were super cute and preppy sneakers when I was a kid, and I loved them. I also thought, at the time, that my 70 year old grandma was pretty hip for having a pair too! To make a long story short....guess what?! Tretorns are BACK and cooler than ever.

I have to give major fashion cred to my 13 year old daughter, Cooper for letting me borrow her pink Aritzia bomber jacket (other styles on website with more size options).  I have to say it's pretty fun being able to share a few pieces of clothing with my girls (less guilt when I shop!!). Underneath is a white silk cami (similar) also from Aritizia, which has been a huge staple in my wardrobe. I found this denim skirt on Shop Bop. I loved it because of the button - up front and the length. It fits very similarly to a pencil skirt. Accessories: I give you TWO footwear options.....navy Tretorns or pink slides! My Gucci slides are about 15 years old, but thankfully, there are so many similar choices out there! (Dolce Vita, Manolo Blahnik, Loeffler Randall )

Bare Your Shoulders!

The bare shoulder trend seems to be a long-lasting one, and I think it is such a flattering look... However, I've had the hardest time finding a top that is comfortable and doesn't rise up when I move my arms! How many of you walk around like a zombie when you wear an off the shoulder top? It looks ridiculous! I was determined to find a bare shoulder top that worked for me and all of you :-)

I found one!!!....at Mint in Mattituck, NY.  This super cute, off the shoulder top has a magical, built-in system that keeps "everything" where it is supposed to be AND you can move your arms around wildly (if you choose to) without the entire shirt sliding up! Oh, and it's only $78! Since the top is a bit flowy, I paired it with Rag and Bone black skinny jeans. Accessories: my new Chloe bag (can you tell how much I love this bag???) and Malone Souliers heels from Shop Bop. I know it is still Summer, but I am definitely wearing these closed toe, suede heels out this weekend!

Stripes & Ruffles

I know 4th of July has come and gone, but I am still loving me some stripes! I'm usually not a big fan of prints (as most of you know!), but I couldn't say no to this classic and sophisticated skirt!

While shopping with a client, I found this skirt at Bloomingdales (on sale for under $80!). For some reason, I always find things for myself - it's so bad! So, I quickly put the skirt on hold and went back later to grab it! I not only loved the ruffles at the bottom but the bow in the front! It makes the whole look so lady-like and sweet. I paired this awesome skirt with my fave Athleta tank, pink suede slides (black ones) - (similar slide) and my new Chloe bag!! I love this bag, because you can use it as a tote or a cross body!

My FAVORITE go-to look!

There's nothing better than a great pair of jeans and silk cami! Honestly, it is a fool-proof look and can be worn on so many occasions!

Jeans & Navy Top_1558.jpg

I am in love with these Citizens of Humanity jeans from Aritizia! They are super comfortable and made with the softest fabric (there's nothing worse than stiff jeans!). I found this gorgeous navy top (in store only - 631-298- 8009) at Mint in Mattituck, NY while visiting my parents. Have you ever been to Mattituck? If you haven't, you need to go! It is the cutest little town with a great cafe called "Love Lane" and it's surrounded by farms and vineyards - wine tasting anyone? I also found this Rebecca Minkoff white clutch at Mint and knew my white sandals would complete the look! White accessories are a must this Summer! Last, but not least, stacked bracelets from Summer Love Designs and Perch Denver/Perch Vail

Fashion Construction Zone

I'm sure by now all of you are aware of my denim overall obsession this season! I never thought I would put another pair on after my senior year of college (which was a very long time ago!), but they're just so darn cute and comfortable! The setting for this photoshoot was an interesting one....part of my house has been under construction for what feels like FOREVER, so I thought I would get some use out of the open space (oh, and my youngest child told me that my I looked like a construction worker in my outfit...I just needed a tool belt).

My family and I were visiting my parents on the North Fork in LI and I found these overalls at the Gap Outlet (more sizing available in-store) at an amazing price! I knew I had to have them. I grabbed my black Athleta tank for underneath and my white Dr. Scholls (another blast from the past!). Final touch: earrings from Zia Boutique (similar style), a super cool jewelry store in Savannah, GA.
