Casual + Dressy = Perfection

I truly don't categorize my wardrobe....I don't believe in one piece being casual or dressy or just for working out. Most things can work together and this not only makes your closet full of "look" opportunities, it saves you money! One of the biggest mistakes when shopping is buying "outfits". You wear them once or twice (depending on who will be at the function you're attending - don't want repeats), and then these fabulous pieces of clothing sit in your closet ...sad and unworn. We can't have that! So, today on my blog is a great look that mixes casual and dressy perfectly.

Every girls loves a little sparkle! I found this gorgeous rose gold sequin skirt at Jcrew. Great fit, though it runs a little big, and on sale ($82)! I chose a more casual top from Madewell and loved how the navy and burgundy stripe worked with the skirt. Final touches: burgundy heels (similar) and gray clutch (similar).

Leather Leggings!

For anyone who knows me, knows that I live in leather leggings in the Fall and Winter! They are beyond comfortable and can be worn with anything from a cozy sweater and converse sneakers to a blazer and heels! And for those non-believers out there...you have to give these leggings a chance...you won't regret it!

I bought these Aritzia black leather leggings about 3 years ago and I am SO HAPPY to report that they are in stock every Fall and Winter. They come in a few amazing colors and the high-waisted design sucks everything in. No joke, these leggings are like spanx and beyond comfortable. For this blog, I wanted to show how these leggings work for going out for lunch with friends or a night out on the town!  I found this amazing blazer at Zara. I love the ruched sleeves and the longer length (it covers my fanny :)! Underneath, I chose this awesome light weight sweater from Zara which has super cool fraying detail on the hems! Final touches....leopard heels and a gray clutch.

Must-have Dress!!

I am always looking for that perfect dress (aren't we all)? The one that is comfortable, flattering, and can be worn in more than one season! Well, I found it!

Zara dress_0078.jpg

I found this dress at ZARA during a Fall shopping trip! I love the mix of textures and it's lady-like feel. Oh, and it is only $50! This awesome dress can be paired with anything from tights and booties to sandals...but for this blog I took a more classic approach. Jackie from Blowout Morristown gave me a soft, dewy look and a gorgeous bun. I felt so glamorous! I grabbed velvet black heels (similar) from Aldo and my favorite bag (from The RealReal), and the look was complete!

Fall is all about LAYERING!

September can be a difficult month for dressing! The temperature tends to go from very warm to cool, leaving all of us not sure on what to wear! Well, I found a perfect look for these uncertain weather conditions! All you have to do, is layer. Grab a great pair of pants, a tank top, denim jacket, booties, and a fantastic bag. Honestly, what else is there??

Pleated pants_2015.jpg

Embellished and embroidered denim is so popular right now! I have to admit that I wasn't totally sold on the trend until I found this jacket from Anthropologie! The detail is subtle and not over the top, so it fits in very nicely with my current wardrobe. Can we talk about these pleated trousers??! The color is to die for and you seriously cannot tell if it is a skirt or pants! I chose an Athleta white tank (surprise, surprise) for the under pinning. The cloth booties are from Zara. They are fun, different, and super comfortable. And, my favorite part of the look, because I love mixing price points, is my new YSL bag. This bag is classic and will never go out of style!

School Daze!!!!

With one week left of Summer and school around the corner, all of us are scrambling to get everything done! Back to school supplies, clothes, and shoes are a high priority! The other day I went through my girls closets and found out that nothing fit! How did they grow that much in just 3 months!?! So, I hit my favorite stores (for girls 9-15!) and found some great looks! Abercrombie, Crewcuts, Zara, American Eagle, Nordstrom, and Bloomingdales to name a few.

My youngest, who is 9 loves to be comfortable. Soft and cozy are key words when shopping for this kid. I found this black Zara sweatshirt and it is that and more! It's super comfy plus it has glitter stars on the shoulders (major bonus)! The jeans are from Crewcuts and they have a great stretch to them. Vans are huge in my house right now and she fell in love with these because of the fringe on the back!

My 13 year old is really into the "mom" jean trend as well as vintage Levis. I found a great pair at Aritzia! She loved this pink sweater from Zara kids - which is the "in" color for Fall and super cozy. And as I said earlier this Summer, Tretorns are back! She loves this navy pair and is super psyched to wear them to school.

Last, but not least a look for my oldest! At 5' 9" it isn't always easy to find jeans for her that don't look cropped!. After a lot of searching, we found that American Eagle has the best selection of jeans with various length options! I loved this striped sweater from Nordstrom. It's on the preppy side, but when paired with ripped jeans, the look has a bit of an edge. We both loved these Steve Madden espadrille sneakers and I'm so happy that we found them in gray....then they won't look filthy after one week of school!
